You will also be interacting with the social workers, therapists, the present birth family, and the court officials. You all need to be in good terms for the better of the child. You need to do your best on your part.

You will also need to be prepared for times when the child is difficult. You will see most of them having backgrounds filed with terrible and abusive instances. They will thus be driven by fear or anger some of the time. You need to be prepared to handle those instances.

You need to see how well you are ready to do this before committing. A good foster agency will be there to offer advice, support and direction as needed. They shall train you on all the relevant topics, and prepare a suitable introduction to you and the foster child.
